The event takes place in the beautiful setting of the Manor House at Whitpain Farm, an historic colonial-era house in Blue Bell, PA. (Directions to be provided.)
The event includes:
Keynote presentation by Andrea Barnet, author of Visionary Women
Intro presentation by Lynn Rosen: “Women’s Words: Feminist Literary Highlights from Virginia Woolf to Gloria Steinem”
A copy of Visionary Women
Time to mingle, meet other attendees, and talk about books
A closing wine & cheese reception with the author where you get to place your own nominations for Visionary Women!
The subjects of Andrea Barnet’s Visionary Women (Jane Jacobs, Jane Goodall, Rachel Carson, and Alice Waters) forged their careers with limited support, few academic credentials, little public recognition. In How to Disappear, Akiko Busch considers the value of invisibility in a time of transparency. In this panel, these two writers will discuss those ways in which working inconspicuously, discreetly, and otherwise under the radar can serve ways of thinking, writing, being.
